Weird & Wonderful Videos, Stories & Songs for Fall from Rainbow Beast

Imagine if Yo Gabba Gabba and Tim Burton started a DIY, punk rock theater with The Flaming Lips as the house band, and you'll have a sense of Rainbow Beast.

Fall is the time to snuggle by the hearth (or the iPad, as the case may be), listen to tall tales, groove to some new music, and indulge in a feast of videos. For fall 2014, San Francisco-based band Rainbow Beast offers a harvest cornucopia of engaging recorded stories, ear catching songs, and eye catching videos embracing the long, rich history of dark, mysterious and playful subject matter à la The Brothers Grimm, Edward Gorey, Roald Dahl, Lemony Snicket, Neil Gaiman and Tim Burton.

All Rainbow Beast material is created with and inspired by kids in the band's Rock Band Land program.

Those with a visual bent will enjoy these weird and wonderful Rainbow Beast videos:
"Chef Shark's in a Pickle" -- HERE
"Fish Wife" -- HERE
"Happy Clouds" -- HERE
"Blue Paper Airplane" -- HERE
"The Truth About Polar Bears" -- HERE

Four most curious new stories and their accompanying songs include: "Chef Shark's in a Pickle," "King Bobby of the Village Village," "Mistaken for Sasquatch," and "The Ghosts of the Sea."

In 2009, after years of performing as touring musicians, Brian Gorman (Tartufi) and Marcus Stoesz (The Music Wrong) created Rock Band Land, a San Francisco-based collaborative artistic education program where elementary-age kids explore their own creativity through original rock music, story writing, and storytelling. Anything can be addressed in a song: fear, death, or alienation, as well as love, joy, and endless kindness. The young rockers are challenged to be original, be kind, and to resist the urge to sing about poop. All Rock Band Land songs must, in the end, be positive and full of redemption and restoration.
